Spending several hours in the office and that too in a boring meeting room seems to be a hell when you cannot connect with the outside world and your mind suddenly gets blocked off any fresh idea. To get rid of such problems and make the corporate world appear lighter and brighter, the Scandinavian architectural firm, Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, has come out with an innovative design for meeting rooms. The firm has designed these suspended meeting room boxes for the headquarters of Nykredit, a leading mortgage bank in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Each suspended meeting box is created in the form of a transparent cube. This cubical structure gives a clear visual display of Copenhagen Harbor, which also supplies water to maintain coolness in the office building. The huge 10-story building features a creative atrium that links to all levels of the building. A staircase takes one up to this atrium, which gets a more lively feel through suspended meeting rooms that are filled with natural light and are crafted in sync with glass elevators, balconies, staircases and walkways. These suspended boxes provide an amazing view of a designer water sculpture at the office entrance.
Projected out of third and fifth floors, there are three additional suspended meeting rooms that appear to be hanging in the air. From various angles of these meeting rooms, one may get to witness the building’s special design creations that are crafted by some of the world’s renowned artists and sculptors. Individuals may be involved in a project meeting but can intermittently observe the beauty of these designs that include a long mural, huge bronze sculpture, and an adjacent plaza with 20 bronze sculptures. People in these well-ventilated suspended meeting room boxes receive a refreshing experience while they stand in the middle of the surrounding glass facades.
