China is going to get a new landmark in the form of the Bike City, which will be located in Chongming. A young design studio named JDS Architects has designed a Spiral shaped park, named the Chongming Bicycle Park that will be an entry for the competition. The unique representation will unfurl an urban oasis in the heart of Shanghai, which will comprise of a multipurpose hall, a visitor center and, of course, a bike museum.

Functioning as a double helix will be the Bike museum that will be the flagship of the park. The exterior portion of the helix can be used to ride bikes and enjoy the view all through the ride. Swirling ramps form the heart of the design that makes it distinctive. The hilly island in the design is the multipurpose hall that can be used by people for various purposes. It can be used for holding conferences, competitions and even concerts.

The most attractive part of the Bike City will be the visitor center. This will act as an entry point for all visitors. It will be a symbol for the park and will work as an information point as well as the main access for the Bicycle Park. It will enlighten people about the evolution of biking. Apart from this, the visitor center will signify the association of recreation, social awareness, technology and sport with biking in a clear and strong manner.

The Bike City is exceptional and will manage to attract a lot of people. The spiral shaped entry by JDS Architects will unquestionably give tough competition to other designs.
