NERYLE Mobile Zoning Element makes red velvet rope friendlier

NERYLE

Unless you are a globally recognized billionaire like Bill Gates, chances are you have been spited by the red velvet rope at one point or the other in your life. The flimsy scarlet bit of textile that has been the symbol of the difference between the haves and the have nots (pardon the antiquated analogy) since the dawn of modernism, therefore has a very negative connotation about it which of course cannot possibly be the best suited zoning option for places and businesses like restaurants and other public places that need to look inviting to people from all walks of life without appearing classist or discriminatory. The NERYLE Mobile Zoning Element looks to provide businesses with just such a thing that provides all the function of the red velvet rope without any of the traditional discriminatory symbolism attached to it.

Developed in cooperation with Burri AG and designer Joachim Epper, the NERYLE Mobile Zoning Element is a Waegli Design original and can be used as removable zoning system, a piece of outdoor sculptural installation as well as a lively and pleasant water feature.

Consisting of several elements generating water jets, the mobile zoning system creates smooth and soft barriers that can be easily crossed in case of emergency though still keeps people from crossing the water-barrier by inducing a fear of getting their clothes and selves wet. The strip that houses the elements can be customized using different colors and material to provide a number of textures and create playful designs using the same basic zoning system.

The animated play of the water jets also allows businesses to use the zoning system to beautify their premises by customizing the water jest with colorful lights or even fragrances. For places prone to arid climatic conditions, the zoning system can also serve as a humidifier and increase the level of moisture in the dry air.

The NERYLE Mobile Zoning Element is a fun and attractive way to separate parts of floor space and keep the throngs of people away from parts that need to be cordoned off from the populace. The NERYLE Mobile Zoning Element can thus be used in a number of ways by a number of businesses and events like outdoor restaurants, ticketing queues, clubs, promotional events, backstage and staging areas at concerts and plays, to indicate separate stalls not divided by a permanent barrier at exhibitions, or even create a non-permanent wall in hotel lobbies and airports.
