Multitouch STIGA Waldner Table Tennis iTable will ensure fair play

Arguing about points and fouls in a heated game of table tennis is not uncommon in countries and regions where the sport is passionately followed. The Multitouch STIGA Waldner Table Tennis iTable is an initiative that would eliminate the possibility of players trying to pull a fast one on referees. With resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, Apple’s new HiDPI supports the multi touch screen of the table that is coated with a low-friction, smooth and soft acrylic. The table measures 5 cm thick, 76 cm high, 1.52 m wide and 2.74 m long which are the standard dimensions for table tennis tables though regulations may vary across local associations.

Integrated with an advanced computer system, 12 micro speakers from Bose, a Wi-Fi connection, an ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphic card, twin 2.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5620 “Westmere” processors, a multi-touch surface and Siri voice recognition, the next generation ping pong table can keep track of the game and respond to real world objects like table tennis balls and even human touch. Mac Pro 12-core computers hitched to the table keeps track of the game and score as well.

When the ball hits the net, embedded touch sensors in the Samsung-powered touch-sensitive screen net provides information. The table can be used to display a wide variety of data and statistics related to a game like speed and trajectory of the ball during game play and even the areas where the ball hit the table as a comparative visual stat. Scores are also displayed on the table during a game and players can also argue with the table about points and the table will provide them with feedback related to their queries.
