Nikita Barinov has designed the B1 Hostel that will definitely become a sight of attraction in Barcelona. The building looks like a tower and will be ornamented with different flags from countries all around the world. These will be visible from quite some distance and guests will be able to connect with the B1 Hostel in no time, when they spot the flag of their country.

B1 Hostel

The design comprises of two buildings, namely the hi-rise building and the table building. These two buildings will be well connected via two pass-ways. The hi-rise building is made up of 33 levels. It includes 10 lavatories, 50 guestrooms, lounge, storage rooms, staff rooms and space for administrative purposes. Each level consists of not more than 2 to 3 rooms, which are located on 8th to 20th and 25th to 30th levels. Every room offers an exquisite and scenic view which is possible due to the presence of large windows and is totally breathtaking. The rooms can be accessed without much difficulty and the building as no corridors.

The lower part, which is the table building, comprises of a bar, kitchen and a store area. The store and dining room stretches out till both the buildings, which is quite a practical feature. Each and every visitor is allowed to access the first four levels of the B1 Hostel, but all the levels from 6th can only be accessed by staff and guests. The top of this table building has an open verandah that is a part of several public spaces of the B1 Hostel. Table Building is 13.3m high and each level has a height of 3.3m. On the other hand, the Hi-rise building consists of 33 levels, while each level measures 3.3 meters. The building rests on a concrete structure framing and the basement of the tower has a measurement of 9×9 meters.

B1 Hostel will help visitors socialize and meet new people. The restricted area acts as a perfect social space that will help people interact. Two-story lounges are present on levels 23-24 and 31-32, which will let visitors unwind and party. The 22nd level is known as the ‘trip planning center’ that will have maps of different places, pin boards, globe and guidebooks. Level 33 and Level 21 will host a viewing area and laundry, respectively. The building can be easily made self-sustainable by swathing the vast surface of the hi-rise building with solar panels. Also, the windows can be covered with transparent membranes, while closed parts can be caked with semi-transparent membranes.

B1 Hostel is an elegant and colorful tower that will help bring people from different places together. It will offer panoramic views and will make every moment spent in it worth remembering.
