Beijing’s fiber optic christmas tree

The beauteous tree in Beijing has been tastefully decorated with blue colored fiber optics instead of the normal lighting. With each individual light lending its own glory to the tree, this Christmas let everything be painted blue instead of the patented snowy white. The tree glows in the dark, lending a bluish glow to the surroundings, thereby, lending a fluorescence ambiance to the night.

The beautiful array of lights end up creating luminescent patterns on the various stems and branches, making the tree belong to a fairytale land instead of the real world. Surely, the fiber optic X’mas tree in Beijing has proved to be one of the best amongst the lot.

The shopping cart tree

The Christmas spirit is truly epitomized by the custom made X’mas tree made out of shopping carts. As he aptly states, the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder and viewing everyday objects as art objects is the essence of being a true artist. The tree has been made using 86 shopping carts and the internal structure has further been rigged for support and balance.

Christmas tree made of library books

One does not have to be an inventor to be environment-friendly. This X’mas take a vow not to cut down any defenseless evergreens. Instead make use of your imagination to spruce up a self made tree. Giving a shape to this concept, the folks in Gleeson Library, San Francisco, have come up with a very ingenious idea. They have brought together a set of green colored books, piled them up one on top of another and created a green Christmas tree.

Even if you may not be able to garnish it with colorful goodies, the idea behind it is what makes a difference. Let the festivities roll and don’t forget to relish in the eco-friendly way of celebrating this colorful festival.

Hubcap Christmas Tree

The Hubcap Christmas tree is bound to simply sweep you off your feet. Well, not exactly with the hubcaps, but by the idea which has been put into place. The tree is made by Champion Auto Sales Inc. The auto company has built it with unusable hubcaps which would otherwise have just been thrown away.

Putting a creative edge to their thinking and making the tree a true masterpiece, the company has paved the path for out of the way recycling. Their motto is pretty simple; if you can get a bit jazzy and let your imagination flow, there is absolutely nothing in this world which can deter you from achieving your goal.

The end result of this is the Hubcap X’mas tree which manages to captivate senses and exemplifies the essence of Christmas.

A Christmas tree made of bicycles

Here is a tree which will make your eyes pop out of their sockets and do a somersault on the floor. Recycling old bicycles and giving a new meaning to celebrating the festival; the People at Rocks, Australia have outdone themselves this year.

Using nothing but 100 old bicycles to make the tree, they have created a masterpiece, that too, third year in a row. Painting the two wheelers green, twisting and turning them to give the shape of a tree, and providing them a new lease on life, all the bicycles have proved to be an excellent set of raw materials for a recycled X’mas tree. Trust the Aussies to end the year with a smash hit on their hands. Way to go guys!

Hard disk drives Christmas tree

If you have an old computer you are thinking of replacing, then don’t be too hasty to get rid of it. Instead, hand it over to Reader Steve R who will dismantle it and probably create another masterpiece out of it like his hard disk Christmas tree. Yes, that’s correct. Steve has made use of 70 hard disk drives out of old computers and converted them into a glinting Christmas tree. The diskettes lend the tree a metallic glint, making it a thorough masterpiece.

Even though the color may defy the creation, but it is the intent behind the design which touches the heart in the first instant.

Eco christmas tree by Buro North

If you are in a mood to celebrate a clean and green Christmas, then what’s better than getting an Eco Christmas tree at home? The golden colored creation is a brainchild of Buro North, a graphic designer from Australia. The awe-inspiring Christmas tree has been crafted from plywood and is 80 percent more environment friendlier than the fir or spruce ones we decorate normally. The tree can be flat packed and is available in three different sizes. It is made using a low production technique, and makes good use of waste. The best part of this Eco Christmas tree is that you can use it year after year, unlike Pine trees that have to be thrown away after one single use.

Christmas tree made from LEDs and bathroom pipes

Let your Christmas be decorated with LED lights and recycled bathroom pipes. Fused with colors of green and red, the Christmas cheer can be magnified given the decoration and the lighting. The best part is that it makes use of absolutely nothing but recycled parts and materials.

The contraption has been fixed with a mini processor which displays the various colors, messages on the tree and also leaves the onlookers impressed with the colorful display.

The recycled bottle Christmas tree

If you’re an extremely avid window shopper and derive kicks by checking window displays, then you’re in for a pleasant shock. Domison, a furniture shop based in Montreal, have hired Paprika (a design outfit) to piece together a fir tree replica using nothing but old mineral water bottles. A jolly good way of reusing discarded glass bottles.

Around 300 pieces of glass bottles were used in the designing of this masterpiece. By hanging the bottles one over the other, the designer has made sure to give the appropriate effect of the intended glass tree. Domison’s have placed spotlights strategically on top of the glass creation, thereby, accentuating the effect manifold.

Having said this, the tree boasts of an excellent design, cuts and when lights bounces off the edges of the tree, it looks as if the whole thing has been carved out of ice. A magnificent idea, that’s for sure.
